Montgomerys Escape Goliad Massacre!!

Here the Montgomery kids (posing as Fannin's troops) escape Becky (a Mexican soldier) who is trying to 'massacre' them in another re-enactment. 28 Texans were able to escape and did not suffer the fate of some 300 other Texans who were murdered by the Mexicans at Presidio La Bahia in Goliad. I thought it best for the kids' mental health if they played the Texans that survived.

Montgomerys Reenacting History!!

Molly (General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna) is surrendering to Matt (Sam Houston) while Mary Kate (Deaf Smith) listens in at the original site at San Jacinto. The Montgomerys also pose in front of the marker with Andrew and John Montgomery's names where the Texans camped before they slaughtered the Mexicans the next day. Tonight we dined at McDonald's with these beautiful girls and with their parents and other set of grandparents. We were celebrating McDonald's World Children's Day. McDonald's gives a percents of it's sales revenue that day to the Ronald McDonald Houses. Andy has been President of the Temple Ronald McDonald House for the past year and as been very active with this important charity for the past several years. It provides a home for families of children who are hospitalized.
It was also the 10th birthday of Michael John, Andy and Rosie's child who died several days after birth.
We had a grand time for a worthwhile cause and are now getting ready for Thanksgiving.

This is one of the reasons we go to Branson, Missouri every year. I ran into Marilyn at one of her shows and she had me on the stage. She sat on my lap while she sang me a song and planted a few kisses on my face. All of this was done with Alma and a few hundred other people watching. What an experience. We are going back.
